Preya prides herself on working collaboratively with her patients to ensure they receive the best care possible. Her educational background and practical experience have led her to great success in treating a wide range of acute and chronic conditions. Her personalized approach of incorporating the use of manual (hands-on) therapy techniques, individualized exercise programs, acupuncture, dry needling, and patient education with her unique personality is what makes her an effective practitioner.

Preya and her family have lived in Barrie for over 10 year and while her practice is only 3 years new to Barrie she has spent over 6 years working in Alliston serving the residents in Simcoe County. Preya moved her practice to Barrie after realizing the need for a small clinic that prioritizes patient care and personalized treatment in her Community.

When not working, you can find her looking for ways to challenge herself.  She enjoys continuing her education by taking new physiotherapy courses and taking up new hobbies like knitting and scrapbooking.  But most of the time you’ll find her enjoying life with her husband and three young kids. The only thing she loves more than her amazing career is her four favourite people.

Rachel Puccia. PT. MSc.PT

Rachel Puccia

Rachel graduated from the University of Toronto with a Master of Science in Physical Therapy in 2013. Prior to this she completed a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Biochemistry through Queen’s University. Throughout her education she had a keen interest in human anatomy, which led to receiving the U of T award for highest standing in this subject.

As a physiotherapist, her goals are to empower the client to take their health and fitness into their own hands by giving them the necessary knowledge, tools, and resources. She has worked with the Canadian Armed Forces since 2014, which has allowed her to build a practice that is strong in manual therapy, exercise prescription, and acupuncture. She is very excited to be bringing this experience and knowledge back into private practice world.

Rachel has pursued additional manual therapy and manipulation training since graduating MSc.PT, and in 2020 successfully completed her Intermediate Practical Exam through the Orthopaedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. She has since gone on to complete Level 4 of the 5-level curriculum, and plans to challenge the Advanced Examination for her diploma within the next year.

In addition to manual therapy, Rachel has completed courses in Acupuncture through Acupuncture Canada, Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT) through the Robin McKenzie Institute, and shoulder courses from shoulder specialist Lyn Watson. Though she treats all musculoskeletal conditions, her special interests include treating shoulder dysfunctions, ankle dysfunctions, and foot dysfunctions, including orthotic assessment and prescription.

When she isn’t in the clinic, you can find her one of two places. She might be in the gym, as she is an avid Crossfit enthusiast, but more than likely you will find her somewhere with her horse. Rachel has been an equestrian for as long as she has been on this earth, and lives for training and travelling with her equine friends.
